For those who stood in the arena with me, I am eternally grateful. We dared greatly; and, while we may have come up short, we have spent ourselves for a worthy cause. I am humbled by your support and honored by your friendships.

We founded our campaign on the belief that people are inherently good.  We tried to use this campaign as a way to highlight the good works that so many people do within our community, across the country, and around the world.

We will be using the balance of our campaign funds to make donations to each of the charities we promoted over the past year.  I would encourage you to contribute as well.  Below, you will find a brief description of each charity and a link to their page.

Warmest Regards,

David J. Pigott

Broomfield FISH

Broomfield FISH (Fellowship in Serving Humanity) is a human services agency providing emergency relief to local families in need.  FISH is also embarking on the herculean task of actually getting our neighbors out of poverty.  As a Trustee of FISH, I would ask for your support.

Wounded Warrior Project

We featured the Wounded Warrior Project on Memorial Day.  The Wounded Warrior Project has helped many of my friends and fellow Soldiers overcome the wounds of war.  Their mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors.  They want to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.  Please give to those who have given so much.

Help Addison Kick This Thing

Broomfield resident Addison Kleinhans was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic on April 6, 2010 at only 5 years old.  As you can imagine, this has created a huge financial burden for the family.  Addison’s mom has had to stop working to care for him.  Addison can win this fight, but he needs your help.

Catholic Charities

We highlighted Catholic Charities on Father’s Day because of their programs aimed at helping single fathers.  Catholic Charities provides strong leadership and support to local agencies committed to reducing poverty, supporting families, and empowering communities.  Surely, we can help them achieve their goals.

American Red Cross

The importance of the American Red Cross became even clearer in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.  The Red Cross setup almost 200 shelters in order to address the housing crisis up and down the east coast.  This work will continue for a long time.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure

There are approximately three million breast cancer survivors in the United States including my aunt.  Yet, it is estimated that there will be almost 40,000 deaths in 2012 due to breast cancer.  In October, we joined organizations across the county in promoting breast cancer awareness month, but the need for support continues.

The Brick Foundation

I started The Brick Foundation in 2008 when my little sister needed a way to raise money for her Peace Corps project.  Her goal was to build a community center in Malawi, Africa so that people would have a discrete way of obtaining HIV/AIDS testing.  The Brick Foundation also built a girls dormitory, provided local clinics with medical supplies, and more.
